The Galaxy Super 2000 is a Drum Sander (Evolution 1) and also a Belt Sander (Evolution 2)
The Galaxy Eagle is a Belt Sander (Evolution 2) and also a Hard Plate Sander (Evolution 3)
Evo 1 is for extremely Rough and buckled floors. It's old technology and pretty much not used unless in extreme cases.
Evo 2 is the most commonly used setup. A belt sander has many advanatges over a Drum Sander, the most obvious one being, far fewer chatter marks.
Those ugly lines or vibrations you see in floors that have been sanded the Standard way.
Evo 3 is etremely rare in Australia. It is mainly used as a finishing machine. It drastically reduces stops mark's and change in direction marks.
It also sands end matched pieces flatter.
